Combination Concrete Bar Chairs 85 / 100 mm, 100 Pack
Specifications:
The size of the bar chair determines the mesh height during pour. Each combination bar chair suits two mesh heights - either 25mm and 40mm, or 50mm and 65mm, 75mm and 90mm, or 85mm and 100mm. Tall combination bar chairs are also available to suit 115mm and 120mm, or 145mm and 150mm.
Available in packs of 100 for trade use and concrete contractors, these rebar chairs are strong and durable.
Reinforcing mesh is most effective in the top half of a slab, where it is used to prevent cracking. It is positioned in the slab to increase its flexural strength and minimising the chance of it cracking down the track. It acts as an additional tension, holding the concrete together when cracks develop. If mesh is poisitioned at the bottom of the slab it is not as effective. Therefore, bar chairs are used to suspend the mesh. Generally, you should choose bar chairs that lift the surface of the mesh to approximately 50mm below the finished concrete surface. Using tie wire to fix all the reinforcement together increases the likelihood that it will remain in place during concrete pour.
To work out how many bar chairs per m2 you will need, depending on the job allow on average 1 chair for every square metre, through to as much as one chair every 0.6m2, depending on the weight of the mesh and the specifics of your job. Always refer to your own engineering calculations.
Jaybro also supplies all types of bar chairs and spacers including tilt panel chairs, deck spacers, wagon wheels or circular spacers, fast clip bar chairs, metal bar chairs, U chairs, pizza plates, mesh separators and trench supports.
