High visibility clothing increases visibility of the wearer to train crew, track vehicle drivers and plant operators. This shirt is suitable for contractors in allied industries as well as train workers. High visibility clothing worn in the rail corridor and maintenance centres needs to be high visibility orange in accordance with Standards.
Where used at night or at times of reduced visibility such as fog, low light or whilst in tunnels or underground locations, high visibility clothing must be fitted with retro-reflective strips. Jaybro uses highly effective retro reflective tape which causes practically all of the light reflected from its surface to be directed back to the viewer.
Positioning of the strips on garments must be in accordance with the Australian Standard AS4602: 2011. For use in the Sydney Trains rail network and associated sectors, the strips are to be configured in a particular manner. Jaybro’s rail approved shirt meets these requirements with a taping pattern conforming to:
One horizontal hoop of retro reflective tape encircling the waist
A second horizontal strip at the back, below the waist, more than 50mm below the first
2 vertical 50mm wide strips of retro reflective tape joining the upper horizontal hoop, passing straight over each shoulder like suspenders, to form an "X" at the back.
