Orange Geofab for League’s Blue and Gold Team

Back in December 2016, Delta Group were contracted for the demolition of the old Pirtek Stadium, the Eels home ground in Parramatta. The firm was also successful in gaining the contract for civil works of the new Western Sydney Stadium project that would be built in its place, now currently known as Bankwest Stadium.

Demolition started on the project in February 2017 to make way for the future 30,000 seat stadium. A few months later, June 2017 saw the start of the bulk earthworks, and the first loads of mastaTEX Orange GFO6 being delivered to site.

mastaTEX Orange geofab from GEOmasta was selected as the geotextile of choice due to the excellent filtration and separation properties it offers, and its bright orange colour clearly marking ‘no excavation’ zones.

Due to the high profile nature of the project, all products needed to be of the highest quality and performance. GEOmasta orange geofab was specified due to its excellent quality and rigorous testing, giving it predictable performance even under demanding conditions.

Works continued into early 2018, with over 60,000m2 of mastaTEX Orange geofab now installed on site.

Bankwest Stadium officially opened in March 2019 to great fanfare and is now the home of rugby league’s Parramatta Eels and the Western Sydney Wanderers. It will also accommodate a number of different of activities on the sporting calendar including rugby union, as well as outdoor music events.
