This PVC expansion joint has a patented curved design that provides an even distribution of weight and locks together adjoining pathway paving sections, allowing for movement without any cracking or unevenness between sections. Plus, it includes a layer of built in compression foam, removing the need for bitumen board and sealants.
In pavements without Lock Joint, inevitable movement due to soil shifting or tree roots causes vertical displacement between the pavers known as stepping. This in turn causes trip hazards. The easy to install All in One Lock Joint solves this issue, by using the unique curved profile to lock together adjoining pavement sections, allowing for movement without uneveness.
Strong and long-lasting, Lock Joint has been independently tested by NATA engineers to move only 0.6mm when subjected to a vertical displacement of 110mm. This is in comparison to competitor products that allow movement of up to 80% more. When installed correctly, Lock Joint will last for the lifetime of the footpath. This means that Lock Joint can significantly reduce maintenance and replacement costs over a lifetime.
It is fast and easy to install, with a flat bottomed design that makes placement easy, and a convenient removable rubber capping that peels back quickly to reveal a smooth join. The patented Pinnable and All-in-One expansion joint designs use a steel pin to hold the joint in place and prevent the need for holding bars, pegs or clamps during the concrete pour. The included black rubber capping prevents sand from entering the joint, stopping weed growth and greatly reducing maintenance costs. It also provides a safer, smoother surface for pedestrians and cyclists.
